Random Fact of the Day

Brothers are so useful.

When I'm getting ready to go to a party, I can just ask them: "Now, is this modest enough?" or "Do I have too much make-up on?" Half the time, of course, they have no idea what they're talking about because...well...they're guys! And guys do NOT have a sense of style. Still, if they don't know what they're talking about, then they just agree and say that you look wonderful! Which...works for me!

Letter to My Husband

I've recently read an article in the Christian magazine, Brio that's supposed to represent a letter from your future husband. While I was reading, I imagined that it was really him, and that he was thinking of my face when he was writing it. I imagined him smiling at the thought of us getting married. His main reasons for writing me was too tell me that he hoped I was keeping myself pure for him and to be dressing modestly for all the young men around me so that if it happened to be him passing me, that he'd notice me for my modest pureness, and not for the dirty thoughts that might tempt him. He also said that he's praying for me non-stop and hopes that I pray for him too. This is what I pray for him:

I pray that he'd be a man of God, and work hard on his relationship with Him. I pray that he'd make wise choices when it comes to dating other girls that he will also keep himself pure for me.

Also, I pray my heart out to God that if it's His will that I would be able to get married to just the right husband and that our marriage would be strong with His help.

Drama Ditz?

Why did I name myself The Drama Ditz? Well, I shall explain.

I am sooo in to drama. As in singing, dancing, acting... theater drama. OK, as well as some of the dramatic teenage life. Drama is my favorite thing to do! Lately, I am playing the role of Susan in the musical, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I've been in eight other shows including, Robin Hood, Sleeping Beauty, Wizard of Oz, Annie, Tom Sawyer, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, (yes, I've been in it twice) Cinderella and Seussical. And I am not done. Ohhh no. When I'm finished with Narnia, I think I will be trying out for the part Eponine in Les Miserables in the fall. Okay, so now you've seen the drama part of me, let me explain the...ditzy part.

I have blonde hair. Yeah, I know, so what? You can be blonde and smart! And honestly, I don't think I'm stupid. But! I...can just be...a complete ditz sometimes. For instance, today I flew downstairs to the basement and ran right in to a pole. THAT POLE HAS BEEN THERE EVER SINCE WE MOVED HERE. It holds the house up! And yet, I still forgot it was there, and ran right in to it. See what I mean? It's not that I'm dumb, it's just that I'm 'blonde' and 'ditzy'. What can I say? It's the way I am! Also, there was the time when my friend told the joke:

Q: Why did the Roman chicken cross the road?
A: She was afraid someone would caesar!

...and I didn't get it. She had to explain it 5 times before I finally registered that Caesar was supposed to mean 'seize her'!

And that is what my title means. Ahh, sometimes, I don't know what to do with myself.

Coffee Saves The Day

Coffee has recently become one of my favorite things in this whole entire world. It's just perfect. Perfect, perfect, perfect. You know what's even better? Starbucks coffee. I looove Starbucks coffee. It helped me in the time of crisis today when I was hypervenalating about all the smudges on my newly painted wall. I was just dreaming about Starbucks coffee...thought I'd let you in on the secret.

Painting Party

I was planning to have my best friend, (my ditz in crime) over to help me paint my room today. But when I called her house, I found out that she had left on a vacation without telling me. Oh well, I thought. I'll just call my other friend and see if she can come over. But she told me she was doing summer PE for extra credit when she goes to school next year. Thanks Good Friend. I decided to call yet another friend and see if she was too busy to have a little mercy on me. "Oh, I'm sorry," she said "I'm leaving for Tennessee tomorrow." Pshhhh, some friends I have. SO GUESS WHAT? I had my very own painting party with...MYSELF!!! Oh man, was that fun.

1. I stripped the border from the wall, all by myself.
2. I placed tape all around the wooden edging, all by myself.
3. I painted around the doorway, windows, right below the ceiling and right above the wooden edging, where I had put tape, all by myself

I feel like the little red hen...maybe I shouldn't let my friends in my room anymore...because, they didn't help me make it look pretty!

4. I rolled THE WHOLE WALL, all by myself.

Okay, so it was only one of the walls. But it was such exhausting work! And being the perfectionist that I am, I just couldn't seem to make it as flawless as I had planned. I panicked at how in-perfect my work was and decided to stop before I started crying.

To keep me company all through my day's hard work, I listened to a book on tape. My mother and I love listening to audio books while we work. The book that I listened to today was called The Egypt Game. I haven't finished it yet but it's been very interesting so far. It's about 3 boys and 3 girls who find this junk yard with a bunch of stuff that they put together to look like an Egyptian temple. Then they start pretending that they are Egyptians. They play out a bunch of ceremonies and learn how to write hyroglyphics so that they can send secret notes to eachother. It was one of my mom's favorite books when she was my age and she says that it gets very creepy by the end of the book. I'll have to tell you the ending.

Anyway, that was my wonderful painting party with myself. I found myself a much more interesting person than I thought I was. Oh, I guess I didn't mention the part where, when I was tired of listening to The Egypt Game, I sang and talked to myself. There's a lot more to me than people or even I thought! You'll all have to learn that about me when I continue to post random things on this page. :]
